Rest your head: The Movenpick Hotel, Berlin

In a fantastic location near Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz stands this beautifully designed hotel which manages to combine quirky design with luxury and comfort. The New York Times described it as being perfect for “hipsters on a budget.” The hotel occupies the former offices of Siemens in an imposing listed building built in 1910, and the remnants of the building’s industrial past are cleverly incorporated into the hotel’s contemporary design. Rooms are decorated with bold colours and modern style, and there are some lovely touches such as a plastic frog to play with in the bath. The staff are warm and welcoming – offering detailed weather reports for the day ahead and brandishing umbrellas when necessary, and the magnificent breakfast buffet is guaranteed to leave you stuffed til lunch. http://www.moevenpick-berlin.com.
