San Anton Festival, Spain
In the lovely village of Canillas de Albaida, this is a typical rural Andalucian fiesta for their patron saint San Anton, with lots of horses, traditional music, flamenco dance and a vibrant parade. A great opportunity to experience Andalucian colour.
Carnaval de Québec, Canada
29 January – 14 February
A truly winter celebration with everything from parades, parties, and ice sculptures to all the winter sports in pretty Quebec City. A great event for families.
International Circus Festival, Hungary
Featuring dazzling displays by some of the world’s best Circus performers in an exciting event which is held every two years in lovely Budapest.
Republic Day, India
Resplendent with pomp and pageant, this events features a splendid parade and colourful festival events in New Delhi. It is one of the country’s most important national events, and other state capitals mark the occasion too.
The International Balloon Festival, Switzerland
Held at beautiful Chateaux d’Oex with more than 100 different brightly coloured hot air balloons, all manned with immense skill and precision, over the region’s lovely snow-capped valleys. The festival is now in it’s 32nd year and attracts pilots from all over the world.
